Initial Packing Design Ideals

Our initial packing design ideals are making a kind of sports drink for the bodybuilder, Major consumer group are students between18 - 24. It's usually the age they are in university, so they have much more time to go to the GYM than the person who have worked. They are young people, so we
want to make something have strong visual experience to catch their eyeball.

"Monster Energy is a world-renowned brand of energy drink, established by the California-based Monster Beverage Corporation in 2002. It is one of the world’s most popular and best selling energy drinks. The Monster Energy drink logo comprises of the stylized claws of a monster that form a large letter “M” – the company’s initials."  This is a very popular sports drink among young people, so we chose it to be our reference. The strong contrast colour is the main feature of this package. Hand-writing style is good, it fits the theme of the logo. Each colour corresponds to one flavour. "These colours exemplify energy, youth, health, excitement, vitality and elegance". In contrast, there are too many fonts types, it seems a little mess. About the screen layout, I think it used the golden section to make the visual experience more comfortable.

The first thing we want to make out is the product name, it's too common and weak to use something like a noun or a verb to describe a product. So we change the tactics, the voice, we can imagine it easier than an object or action. The second thing is colour, we don't want to use abstract words to describe the colour, The comprehension of Hamlet varies from reader to reader. So does the interpretation of the colour. We want to make it from real such as the colour from whole wheat bread, oat, apple, orange and so on and so forth... Something that a guy goes to the GYM need. About the layout of the can package, we want to try some new form, no Vertically centred, something more dynamic. I will keep updating my progress in my next post about target market research for my package design.
